The look and tone of the drum is beautiful. We were excited to see that we got such a high quality bag to transport the drum in as well. That was a bonus in our minds. Let me first say and I'm still saying, "WOW!" To both the service of this company and the quality of this drum. Found them on a whim, an ad in my inbox for kalimbas. Having gifted one to a friend I decided to take a look and somewhere down the page this beauty rested. Curious to this style of drum? Let me tell you this is what you get when a quality hang drum meets and hangs out with a quality not chimey sounding tounge drum. Watch the video included on the site and see / hear what I'm saying. Now in this case my need was deep as with most others being affected by the gathering ourselves together due to covid restrictions...even for funerals and newbirths. Now that's just sad all around. In the midst of this sketchiness haven planned this memorial to celebrate the circle of life due to natural causes not covid I ordered one. Then wondered after how long shipping would take. Gathering date May 23. Emailed company, MAY from the company responded several times regarding arrival. I ordered last week and knew for sure no way will it be here a week later or so. Now I was monitoring that tracking number like watching your gas hand on a long trip where few stations are and noticed it was in the hands of customs. Then my dog alerts me Thursday the 20th, to a delivery. All excited even though the box showed signs of a Customs Surgery! I cut through all the retape they'd used opened the flap saw a really nice case...opened it and there it was. Not sealed in a plastic bag or sleeve. I think while literally it had been in the hands of customs some beautiful music was played as the surface upon touch felt gritty and dusty like and 2 notes were seriously down & dulled. Trust me when I say they found the sweet keys and made the megahertz ring. Now am I mad? Naw! Why? Well I'm sure I'd have done me some tinkering too had I been that customs agent. If you know how to tune or have a tuner you're set. With that in mind order within your time frame. God put thru a hurry up for me that spared drama as in the end it's a birth gift and a life token to that which was.
LASTLY May your journey start here. Talk to MAY if you're gonna talk at all because MAY follows up; is legit for sure. And sweeten someone's day probably the whole office at Customs...music breaks up the monotonousness of dreary & drama. It's hard being sad or sorry or mad with this instrument. Sorry for the lengthy review? No as you'll be leaving a long one too....

If enjoying the hang sound is your thing but certain constraints withhold you (you know what I mean)...you won't have to sell plasma to afford it & only a serious hang pan ear would question if at all if eyes were closed the sound made wasn't like a hang massive or yatao...not plugging them just giving a reference.
